The Home Builders Association (HBA) of Southeastern Michigan will honor attorney Norman Hyman with the 2014 Professional Services to the Building Industry Award. The formal presentation will take place at the HBA annual holiday banquet and award night on December 3, 2014.
Michael Stoskopf, CEO of the HBA of Southeastern Michigan, has these words of tribute for Hyman: “Norm Hyman has been a valued member of the Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan since 1971 and has served on our Board of Directors since 2004. He is being given the Professional Services to the Building Industry Award based on his unsurpassed expertise in land use law and his ongoing willingness to share his knowledge and opinions with our membership for the benefit of the home building industry. We value and appreciate his continuing service.”
For his entire career, Hyman has been passionate about the importance of affordable housing. He has actively helped pass legislation and provided pro bono services to the HBA.
In his law practice, Hyman represents a broad spectrum of developer and user clients in matters of zoning and land use planning and has participated in numerous environmental and zoning cases in Michigan courts, including several cases before the Michigan Supreme Court.
