
Attorney Lynn Brimer will provide insights on the relationship and impacts between the internal revenue code and bankruptcy code as part of a workshop series hosted by the America Bankruptcy Institute.
The event, the 21st Annual Central States Bankruptcy Workshop, takes place June 12 through 15, 2014 at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
Brimer will be one of four panelists speaking on key areas of the two codes relating to short-year elections, separate entity rules, discharge of taxes, cancellation of debt income and tax issues arising from mortgage foreclosures, modifications and abandonment.
Regarded as one of the top bankruptcy attorneys in the nation, Brimer leads Strobl & Sharp, P.C.’s bankruptcy and creditors’ rights and taxation practice groups. Her expertise spans all phases of bankruptcy and tax planning such as tax preparation, audits and other areas of tax law. Most recently, she was retained as counsel for the Retired Detroit Police Members Association in the City of Detroit, Michigan Chapter 9 proceeding.
